3rd Annual Charity Golf Day for St. James’s Place Foundation

We hosted our Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner on Friday 2nd July 2010 at Astbury Golf Club in Cheshire, which saw 22 teams of four golfers playing an 18 hole stableford competition in the glorious sunshine.

The day started with each player being presented with goodie bags including gifts from Prism Total IT Solutions, who were the main sponsor for 2010. The golfers were treated to refreshments including a hog roast at the halfway house, which was kindly supplied by The Brownlow Inn, Congleton.

Gala Dinner
After a relaxing day of golf, 145 guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal which was served in a marquee in the grounds of Astbury Golf Club. Entertainment was provided by renowned comedian Billy Bean and Master of Ceremonies Vince Miller.

A game of stand up Heads and Tails was won by Sean Johnson of Lichfield Kitchens and Bedrooms, and the star raffle prize of a Giant Revel 2 mountain bike was won by Matt Quinn of St. James’s Place Manchester. The Charity Auction saw guests bidding on some fantastic items including a Bruce Springsteen Original LP Album and a BeoCom 4 cordless telephone, which was kindly donated by Bang Olufsen, Wilmslow. The live four piece band, Real Class, kept the guests dancing through until the early hours of Saturday morning.

Funds Raised
The event was a great success and we raised in the region of £11,000 on the day, which will be matched pound for pound by St. James’s Place, meaning a fantastic £22,000 going to the St. James’s Place Foundation. The money will go towards projects that are for the direct benefit of physically disabled children, those challenged by a mental condition, or a life threatening or degenerative illness. The Foundation also supports the Hospice Movement, by making grants for things such as equipment, the cost of complementary therapy or specialist nursing staff.
